Ouvrez la voie
This part of the Kent coast is an ideal place to explore by bike or on foot. There are many family-friendly paths and routes, some of which are themed. The Herne Bay Cultural Trail guides you through the town, the seafront and the Downs, while the Art Trail highlights local public art and Herne Bay’s historical links with famous artists. You can also discover oysters, crabs and Vikings thanks to two cycling routes that run along the coast.
Errer jusqu’à Rome
Dominating the bay stands the impressive Reculver site. Composed of two towers of a medieval church, this is where the first Roman forts were built. The site later became a monastery before being transformed into a church in the 12th century. All around stretches the magnificent Reculver Country Park, with its meadows and cliffs. It is also an excellent place for birdwatching.
